I love a good hike in the mountains, especially this time of year. The air is crisp, the leaves are poppin’, and it feels like new beginnings all around. When we traveled to Colorado and Oregon this summer, I knew I was all set with hiking gear. Like, really set. I’ve been putting in the practice for many years now, so I should know the ins and outs of hiking a hillside. Take a look at my favorites pieces here, all from my favorite outdoor retailer Backcountry who gave me a unique discount code to share with y’all! Use LESLEY15 which is good for your first purchase. Exclusions apply.
What I realized on these recent trips was that I lacked clothes for those moments in between. The time suspended between point A and point B. The coffee runs, the friend meet-ups, the comfy road trip essentials and even aprés ski attire, necessary for hitting the slope-side parties soon. Sure, I can do all of this in trekking pants and heavy duty hiking boots, but I’m not exactly optimizing comfort or style that way. So…I set out to find some lifestyle pieces for upcoming adventures, mixing old and new!
Tops
Sweater Weather
It’s all about that pumpkin spice and yes…everything nice 🙂 Like cozy, oversized knits! Sweater weather is upon us, and I love this soft, chunky color block sweater with bell sleeves. I’m wearing a small, and it still has room for another layer underneath if I wanted that option. It’s currently 45% off, too!!
Slouchy Long-Sleeved Tee
I love a relaxed fit. Who doesn’t?! The soft, stretchy fabric of this long-sleeved tee makes for a comfy coffee run, friendly hang-out, beer sesh – what have you. I love the pop of color with the Mirage Blue, and it also comes in Black, Navy and Chili Orange. Currently 40% off!
Sherpa Fleece Jacket
I love winter white in pretty much everything. I need to physically force myself to buy other colors, but I couldn’t help myself with this cozy zip-up. It’s lightweight but also insulating and breathes well…and it’s one of the softest things I own!
Sweater Cardigan
Mark my words (and count my photos)…I will live in this cardigan during Fall. It’ll never be an old cardigan under someone’s bed (Taylor Swift, anyone?). I love how lightweight it is, able to be paired with anything from jeans to a dress. It also comes in Khaki and is currently 45% off!
Sherpa Vest
I’ve traveled with this vest from Telluride to Switzerland. I’ve worn it to a BBQ and on the slopes underneath a ski jacket for more warmth. It’s so versatile and made from recycled wool, processed in an Italian mill without chemicals.
Pants
High-Waisted Leggings
My last three pairs of leggings have all been Beyond Yoga. I’m just going to admit it…I’m a legging snob! I live in them all day and all night since they’re my WFH uniform. I’ve done my fair share of “market research” and have come to this conclusion: Look.No.Further.
Dress
Long-sleeved Dress
A shoulder-season dress with boots? Twist my arm. This is my style in a nutshell…this and every Fall. I paired the long-sleeved dress with beige boots for a monochromatic look, and I love it. I just need a pumpkin to complete the autumn aesthetic! Currently 55% off.
Boots
Hiker Boots
Not only are these babies BEAUTIFUL, but I could also hike in them…if I wanted (which I don’t because they’re BEAUTIFUL). I’m acting like they aren’t durable as well, but they definitely are with waterproof and leather features. This is a prime example of “from trails to town.” Versatility is key!
Waterproof Winter Wellies
I’ve had these boots for a couple of seasons now, and I can’t say enough good things about their comfort and warmth. 3M Thinsulate insulation provides that coziness without bulk while the inner fleece lining wicks away moisture. Grab these for any rain, sleet, snow or colder weather.
Danner Boots
I’ve had these Danner boots so long that I honestly couldn’t tell you how many years we’ve been together. Yep, and they look brand new! They’ve received only 5 Star reviews from Backcountry because they’re *that* loved, made via premium craftsmanship. They have a good amount of weight to them, but that’s when you know you’re working with only the most durable boot. Made in America, baby!
Accessories
Explorer Hat
It’s hard to beat a Stetson hat…especially in this color. Adventure hats have become a part of my traveling wardrobe, and while it’s not easy to pack them or place them in a carry-on, the elevated style they bring is worth the pain.
