I honestly didn’t know a lot about labor, delivery, postpartum and the like until now. I’ve watched from afar as my sister and friends have had kids, but I knew @drone.pilot and I needed some prep work. We just finished @tinyhood’s Childbirth 101 class from labor to postpartum, and I seriously feel soooo much better/more confident heading into this next chapter! We took it on our own time and processed so much important information that we didn’t know. One of my favorite parts was watching Alex’s knowledge grow so much and find a new, deep appreciation for the female body. Creation is truly amazing, and we can’t wait to meet our girl so soon! Birthdays in the age of covid (while pregnant)🙃😍♥️I couldn’t bring him to Australia so I brought Australia to him...all the while laughing that the flag is def wrong and shape is questionable🇦🇺😂🎉Happy happy birthday to my favorite human! From @drone.pilot to chef to barista to photographer to videographer to carpenter to travel buddy to best friend and now soon-to-be Dad, you wear so many hats. 33 weeks pregnant today! Baby is the size of celery😆Gotta love the veggie of the week lol. At our check-up yesterday, I asked all the new questions I had for our OBGYN. Anyone else go in and feel like you don’t even know what to ask as a new expectant mom? We talked a lot about the LEEP procedure, the no-plan birth plan, and those lovely fake contractions😅As I grow slightly more uncomfortable physically, mentally I’m back here on sunny shores with @drone.pilot. Let me know if y’all have any good Qs of your own?🙃I’ll steal for next time!
Shout out to expectant dad @erubes1 for the photo mate #33weeks #pregnant #pregnancy ...
I been thinking a lot about what the future holds recently. That’s probably very normal during the first few days of a new year, but this week was anything but normal. I’ve thought about what the world will look like in a few years. If the U.S. will be more divided or united at that time. My eyes dart towards my belly with the growing human inside...hoping like hell that we did the right thing. And of course we did. I hold way more hope than fear, but let’s not kid ourselves. We’ve got to start making changes. Listening more. Judging less. Loving harder. We can’t let this ugliness become the norm.
Leonard Cohen’s song ‘Anthem’ contains the famous lyric that I think is so timely:
“Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in.” The message is about hope in darkness, about how silver linings are still out there, however imperfect, and so grab on tightly. And lastly, how there’s a crack in anything you put together...but that is how the light, the hope, the love gets in. It’s with the confrontation, the brokenness of things, that the revival happens. Let’s make this world a little brighter for the next generation♥️ ...
First family photo! Is that weird lol? @drone.pilot got me the best Christmas gift seeing our girl in 3D😍Who do we think she looks like??
I always come up with a word for the new year. I specially remember starting to do this in 2013 right before my season of The Bachelor aired (no idea why I remember that). I deemed it the Year of Yes, taking on any and all opportunities that came my way, including a move to Argentina. Since then, I’ve had the Year of Growth, of Community, of Love, of Roots and then some. 2020 was the Year of Intention...to take on - personally and professionally - only things that had meaning, purpose, fulfillment. If I could rename it, it’d definitely be the Year of Home. I spent more nights at home in 2020 than I have in years. I dove into interior design. I baked. I gardened. I worked from home, worked out from home, everything I did...I did from home. Then we drove 25 hours home HOME. It was a homecoming to Arkansas with the love of my life, and now 2021 is the Year of Family. I’ll become a mother, say ‘I do’ and rekindle all of the relationships put on hold due to this pandemic...close friends, LimitLes and beyond♥️I’ve never been more hopeful or excited for a period of time in my life! What about you? What’s your word? 2021 is the Year of _________. ...
