Back in 2022, something remarkable happened. I finally became that girl who took the time to remove the cereal out of its box and pour said contents into its respective beautiful clear, labeled container. The pantry makeover was in effect! I know what you’re thinking…how long did it last? Turns out, a long time. It was a GAME CHANGER!
I feel like there’s a massive misconception about pantry organization, especially taking out contents to only add to another clear bin. BUT here are the benefits:
1 . It actually SAVES me time
2. Allows for me to see what products are getting low
3. The most important part – it’s aesthetically pleasing!
And so the Spring Cleaning series became a domino effect, and my mom’s laundry room was up next. Spoiler alert: I want our laundry room added to the calendar ASAP!
I’m sharing some of my favorite natural and sustainable products for the perfect Spring cleaning set up from my mom’s laundry room. From best storage practices to non-toxic cleaning supplies, your future summer self will thank you!
See my blog post, Kitchen (Not So) Confidential: How to Organize a Pantry for more inspo!
The Process:
- Take everything out of your laundry room to start with a clean slate!
- Clear out the expired cleaning products, old supplies, and any unwanted items.
- Separate your cleaning products from storage area items such as gift wrapping products, party supplies, and all other miscellaneous items stored in the laundry room – my mom has her Arkansas Razorback and Easter decor, plus Christmas gift wrapping all organized and stored in this space. We separated these from the cleaning supplies to create a better work flow throughout the laundry room.
- Labeling! We used these pretty pantry labels from The Home Edit by iDesign. I think it adds a nice organized touch.
The Supplies
The Chancellor Baskets
These stackable baskets are perfect for any space – especially the laundry room with their sturdy nature and cut out handles for easy access! We decided to use them for mom’s miscellaneous storage in her cabinets through the room.
The Like-It Deep Modular Organizer Bins
These Container Store bins are perfect for cleaning supplies! We organized under the sink with these easy to use, plastic containers. They range in size, are durable, and stay in place without shifting around.
Stone Woven Plastic Storage Bins with Handles
We decided to use these grey baskets for larger cleaning supplies above the sink. These plastic woven baskets are easy to clean and have enough depth to store a range of products. The top one that reads “Stella” stopped me in my tracks as we had to recently put her down, our 15 year old family dog. I hope you’re somewhere over the rainbow bridge jumping for joy, beautiful angel girl!
3M Command Broom Holders
I have these broom holder hooks in my house too and LOVE them! These create so much more space and ease when organizing the laundry room, kitchen, garage or any closet storage within your home. Who wouldn’t love that?!
The Container Store Like-It Bricks Bins
Ranging in size, these bins are great for getting any drawer put together. We used them to separate the miscellaneous households items that naturally end up in our laundry rooms. This collection at the Container Store is also stackable so they really are the most versatile and fantastic option!
Grey Quilted Stemware/Wine Glass Storage Case
These storage cases are the best for protecting and preserving your glassware. They are extra thick, can stack easily, and have zipper to lend added support from damage and dust.
Laundry Detergent Jars and Laundry Basket
These two products are favorites in Mom’s newly organized laundry room! The jars are great for seeing when detergent is running low and a hamper is essential, of course.
Branch Basics Non-Toxic Cleaning Supplies
Branch Basics is my go-to brand for all things cleaning! I use the laundry detergent, foaming wash and all-purpose cleaner on a daily basis and have even gotten my whole family switched over the clean, non-toxic products.
