I asked myself that same question a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been on mom duty since February 12th, 2021. Since then, I’ve only stepped away for 48 hours to see my close group of college girlfriends who were getting together after a couple of years apart. It’s a full time job, and honestly? I think I’m rocking it. Nora is 6 months old, and this parenting thing only gets better and better as she grows up. To be able to say that, I take time for myself every so often. You can’t fill anyone else’s cup until you fill your own.
When I was invited by Aesthetics Biomedical to have a little Me-Time in Florida to experience a Vivace treatment, I said yes. It was a 24-hour trip of visiting with familiar faces, magical fireworks at Disney, microneedling and sleeping uninterrupted at night. To any momma out there, that sounds pretty dreamy. If you’re like me and even have the slightest interest in the beauty industry, you’ve probably seen Vivace microneedling treatments all over social media. I’d heard really good reviews, so I was excited to try it for myself. Here’s how it all went down…
The Vivace Experience
Think specialized facial meets dental appointment. I’m kidding – sort of. The Vivace Experience is a treatment that combines microneedling and radio frequency energy paired with a numbing cream to take away any discomfort, special serum and mask to get amazing results. All instantly. Yep, there’s honestly zero downtime. My face wasn’t blotchy, splotchy or even red afterwards. Type in your zip code to find what physicians offer the Vivace Experience in your area.
The Treatment
Honestly, I was bracing for impact before the needle made its way 1.4mm into my skin, but on a scale of 1-10, it was a ONE. No pain thanks to the numbing cream that was put on about 30 minutes prior to the treatment. This is precisely why I mentioned the dentist above because that’s the only thing I can compare the numbing sensation to! The Vivace treatment uses radio frequency, causing micro trauma to the skin from the needles. An added current/heat source creates more damage underneath the surface of the skin which helps rebuild collagen and stimulate cellular turnover.
The Benefits
- Alleviate wrinkles & fine lines
- Tighten skin
- Minimize pore size
- Improve skin tone & texture
- Immediate results
- Minimal downtime
- Virtually pain-free
The Before
I think genetics play a large role in skin condition, and if I look at my own family, they generally have pretty good skin. There’s no denying another thing we all have in common: aging. Take away the makeup and the filters, I notice many more wrinkles around my face than ever before…and that’s NORMAL! I like to say it’s a sign of a good time 🙂 With that being said, there’s nothing wrong with a treatment here and there! I’ve received Botox injections in the past, and dermatologists recommend follow ups every 3-4 months. With Vivace, results last at least 6 months to a few years.
The After
It takes about 4-6 weeks to see the best results/the rebuild, but anyone who receives the treatment will see skin tightening immediately. I know I did! I was told to avoid applying makeup for at least six hours if not the remainder of the day which was fine by me. Most patients will be ready to resume all daily activities within a day or two (for me it was just a few hours for the numbing cream to wear off) and can be accelerated by using serums for a faster recovery. I’m excited to see further results in the coming weeks as my skin continues to rebuild after the treatment!

Most patients will find that their results last for a few years, though this will vary depending on the number of treatments and number of touch-up treatments that a patient chooses.
