DAY 3: Teysha Custom Leather Boots
This is the most necessary travel accessory out there, so necessary that without it, you couldn’t walk 500 miles, explore far away places or take the road Les traveled. If you guessed money, you’d be wrong, even though they do say travel is the only thing you can buy that makes you richer, and I whole heartedly agree. I’m referring simply to shoes, specifically Teysha custom-made boots. Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.
You may remember a similar giveaway with Teysha from last year. Demand was off the charts, so we brought it back! Hand-crafted in Guatemala, these one-of-a-kind boots bring opportunities to the world, especially in the creative employment sector for the artisans.

I’ve been complimented on them every time I’ve worn them, from my hometown in Chicago to my solo travels in Stockholm, Sweden. Hello! My name is Caitlyn Leal and as a current graduate student studying Physical Therapy I am constantly dreaming of traveling while I am nose deep in my books. Does this prove to be productive? Not so much, but a girl can always dream! On my short breaks from school I plan on traveling as much as I can. This upcoming Christmas break I am going to Colorado and these boots would only add to the beauty Colorado has to offer. After I finish my degree I would love to take these along with me to Mexico. I am a high school Spanish teacher and love, love, love this print! I would wear them everywhere and would have so much fun designing a lesson about the shoes, fabric, colors, traditional Guatemalan print, and would love to know/research more about the creative employment sector to incorporate into my lesson! I work at a non-profit and my work has taken me all over Southeast Asia. Most of my time has been spent in Myanmar, but these boots would come with me wherever I went. Oh wow, I’ve never been so in love with a shoe as I am with the look of these! I’ve recently put in notice to my work and in three months time, I’ll be following my dream and traveling the world! Adios 9-5 daily grind, hello to exploring and adventures and life experiences around the globe. I’ve grown very tired of societies pressure to consume and buy and being told one can’t be happy unless they have the newest phone/Tv/computer.. Happiness and bliss comes from the heart. Hi, my name is Colleen Fazio and I am a third year Neuroscience major. I have always dreamed of studying abroad but because of my major I never thought it would be possible. When looking at the study abroad programs, I only ended up finding one selective program that would fulfill my needs. I read the requirements and saw I feel a little short of one of the requirements but decided to apply anyway. I poured my heart into my personal statement and talked about how a change in perspective could change your world and how I would welcome the change of perspective that this once in a lifetime opportunity could provide me. A few weeks later I received an email accepting me into the program. I did not believe it and I even called to make sure it wasn’t a mistake. When I start to pack for my 5 month adventure I would love to pack these boots. While I am gone these boots would transform from a cute pair of boots into a symbol that reminds me that adventure is always out there and if I want it I have to go find it. (:
Hi, I’m a special education teacher and my feet are constantly swelling after long days consisting of chasing students with various disabilities around our school. If I had a pair of custom-made boots, I wouldn’t only wear them comfortably to work (my students already think I only own one pair of shoes), but I would take them with me when I travel to Thailand over our next break from school. I would love to have a pair of Teysha boots because, to me, they are so much more than footwear. They are a piece of Latin American culture I could carry with me everywhere. I have really become enthralled with Latin American cultures since I learned Spanish and began traveling the world.
If I had Teysha boots, I would wear them anywhere, but I would especially wear them while traveling to my dream destinations on my growing bucket list. Right now, my top two places are New Zealand (to hike the Hobbit Trail like the nerdy teacher that I am) and Manchu Piccu because I have wanted to hike the Inca Trail for as long as I can remember.
Teysha boots would be an excellent visual representation of the zeal and wonder I have with life. They are the perfect footwear for the rambling soul.

I just got back from Nicaragua in November and had the greatest time. I think these would be a great and colorful addition to my travel attire! I hope my next medical mission takes me to Honduras or Peru.
Around the world in 80 days, just kidding. More like around the US in 2016. As the new year approaches, so does the time for setting new goals. Traveling always seems to top the list, but it is something that never really gets checked off, because life happens. Looking ahead to 2016, I’ve decided to start small, with hitting a different state each month. The ultimate goal is stepping foot on each continent, but there are several different cultures in the states and so much to see, it wouldn’t feel right going to explore a different country without exploring my own first.
Although it could take a while to hit all 50, it would give me time to continue research culture and traditions for the destinations on the ever-growing bucket list. Every country/state has something to offer the world, whether it is a natural resource, products that make the world go around, or artistic goods unique to their country/culture. The latter being the most under praised. I have always been one to look for handcrafted or authentic finds when it comes to fashion. Not only are they one of a kind, but the stories behind the articles are more interesting to tell. And the product usually last longer because of the concentration and time put into its construction. Being able to tell the backstory of a product and knowing the proceeds directly go to someone’s sustainment of life means far more than buying into a celebrity’s brand.
Small businesses are what really makes the world go around. Being able to share the story of Teysha throughout my journey would be great addition to my story.

I was born with great wanderlust, but unfortunately with bad ankles and thus struggle to find comfy shoes for my adventures. I’ve found that boots with good ankle support is very necessary if I want to enjoy our w(o)anderings – but so often these boots are not very pretty at all!
With these Teysha babies I could walk up Table Mountain, stroll the cobblestone streets of Europa and attend a line dance in the South of America! All while looking and feeling fashionable and thankful for such a wonderful hand crafted piece of art!
…to the ends of the earth as I search for love. I travel a lot, and this past summer I hiked up the Pacaya Volcano in Guatemala- in boots and a dress!- to the very top! — and am hopeful I’ll find Love no matter how high, far or wide the search/my heart takes me.
