Imagine a place where time seems to stand still, where nature reigns supreme, and where the air is filled with whispers of prehistoric wonders. Welcome to the Galápagos Islands – an archipelago located six hundred miles off the coast of Ecuador, directly on the equator, and surrounded by the vastness of the Pacific Ocean.

These mystical islands have beckoned travelers for centuries, their allure dating back to the very moment Charles Darwin found himself here almost 200 years ago aboard the HMS Beagle. His unplanned voyage led to the discovery of a world that felt like it was plucked from the pages of a fantastical story. Darwin’s accounts spoke of sea dragons, black as the lava shores they slithered upon, tortoises of colossal size, and a myriad of bird species that piqued his scientific curiosity, most notably mockingbirds and finches. His journey marked a giant leap for science. But his description of the Galápagos as “hell on earth” couldn’t be further from the truth.

I first visited Galápgos in 2014 with none other than our beloved travel partners, Quasar Expeditions. I boarded the M/Y Grace Yacht with few expectations and was wowed by the incredible details of the luxury ship, the immense knowledge of the naturalists, and the otherworldly vastness of mother earth and her incredibly unique inhabitants of this region. Today, I’m thrilled to be inviting you to experience it all with the magic of LimitLes Travel on the bigger sister yacht – The Evolution.

Galápagos in October

Visiting the Galápagos in October was an extra special choice because The Humboldt Current brings cooler temperatures (in the 70s), attracting legendary marine life like schools of hammerhead sharks. Our LimitLes Galápagos voyage will be unlike any other as this 10-day adventure will immerse us in the very same landscapes and wildlife that captivated Darwin’s imagination. It’s your turn to join us to uncover the magic of the Galápagos – a unique combination of exploration, relaxation, and once-in-a-lifetime encounters with rare wildlife.

Quasar’s love for the nature of the Galápagos’ ecosystem inspired the team to offer Galápagos eco-tourism almost three decades ago to share and preserve the beauty of this part of the world. They are a permanent supporter of the Charles Darwin Foundation, working to preserve the Galápagos ecosystem and its endangered species through research and scientific knowledge, while supporting a waste-management effort to protect the Islands.

Our home away from home for 7 nights – The Evolution

Bucket List Activities:

Snorkeling with incredibly unique wildlife (like sea turtles, rays, sea lions, penguins, marine iguanas, white-tipped reef sharks), panga rides with incredible naturalists, kayaking in turquoise waters, exploring dormant volcano and lava tubes

We’ll cover:

North Seymour, Baltra Island, Santa Cruz Island, Santiago Island, Isabela Island, Fernandina Island, Española Island and San Cristobal Island

Additional Activities:

Scenic hiking, birdwatching, nature yoga with a view, and so much more!

Accommodation:

During the first two nights, we’ll rest our heads comfortably in Quito while we unwind, explore the old town, and get to know each other before boarding a flight to our our home away from home in the Galápagos Islands – the Evolution Yacht.

The Evolution cruises the archipelago with the lines and style of the roaring 20’s, while offering the finest amenities and services of modern times. The Evolution was carefully crafted for 32 guests to experience the islands through Darwin’s lens. Each day, we’ll hop aboard three dinghies (zodiacs) guided by Naturalist Guides with 15+ years of experience exploring and studying these islands. This is no ordinary cruise. The boat features recently renovated spacious suites, an inside lounge, a stylish inside & al-fresco dining area, a well-stocked (open) bar, a library, a coffee station, an al-fresco lounge, a hot tub, and a solarium.

Cabin Types:

• Suite: Stateroom with large ocean view windows with a double bed or two twins in about 200 square feet of space. Located on the A-deck and the doors open to the outside deck.
• Premium Stateroom: Stateroom with ocean view portholes with two twin beds in about 140-200 square feet of space. Located on the C-deck and doors open to the inside passage.
• Deluxe Stateroom: Stateroom with ocean view portholes with a double bed or two twins in about 160-200 square feet. Located on the D-deck and doors open to the inside passage.

Giveback in Galápagos:

Beagle project for conservation. The Beagle Yacht will set sail in December 2024 with two purposes: a floating hospitality school and a school for children with disabilities. We will be working towards a hands-on giveback project to serve this incredible initiative.

It is expected to comply with country-specific and business-specific testing and masking requirements at the time of travel.

Please only complete the application form if you are seriously interested in attending the retreat, if the travel dates work with your schedules and if the price is within your budget. Applications close on December 1. We’ll be reading applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can be expected to start hearing from us the week of November 27. A deposit of $950 per person is due upon acceptance to your reserve your spot and choose your preferred cabin. Cabins will be filled on a first-come first serve basis. The first installment is due February 16 and you must pay in full by May 31 .
